The Golden Harvest Agronomist serves as a technical expert and sales force trainer evaluating experimental trials, providing marketing input on product advancements, promoting Syngenta products at meetings and field days, and acting as the pivot point for amplifying Syngenta’s story in local agricultural communities across Ohio and Indiana.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
As Golden Harvest Agronomist for Syngenta Seeds, your duties include:
Product Evaluation & Training
- Evaluate experimental trials and research plots to assess product performance under various growing conditions
- Train sales force on new product launches, technical features, and competitive advantages
- Provide technical support and agronomic expertise to sales team and distribution partners
- Develop training materials and presentations showcasing product value propositions
Marketing & Product Development Support
- Provide marketing input into product advancements and portfolio development
- Contribute insights on production planning and hybrid selection for regional adaptation
- Support product-based campaign development in the assigned district
- Sharpen competitive intelligence on competitor pricing, products, and market strategies
Product Promotion & Customer Engagement
- Promote Syngenta Golden Harvest products at dealer meetings, grower field days, and one-on-one consultations
- Conduct plot tours and demonstrations showcasing seed performance and agronomic best practices
- Build relationships with key growers, dealers, and agricultural influencers
- Represent Syngenta at agricultural trade shows, conferences, and industry events
Plot Management & Data Analysis
- Support and coordinate research plot locations and trial entries in assigned territory
- Collaborate with research teams on experimental design and data collection protocols
- Analyze and interpret agronomic data for promotional use and decision support
- Act as pivot point for Syngenta’s story amplification leveraging local trial results and success stories
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this seed agronomist position must meet:
Educational Requirements (MANDATORY)
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Science, Soil Science, or related Agricultural field
Experience Requirements (Choose One Path)
- Path 1: 2+ years of experience in Agronomy or Sales with strong technical background in crop production and seed technology
- Path 2: 2+ years of experience in Research and Development role with strong understanding of Sales and Commercial aspects of agriculture business
Industry Knowledge
- Deep knowledge of seed industry including hybrid development, seed production, and distribution channels
- Understanding of corn and soybean production systems prevalent in Ohio and Indiana
