Position Overview – Junior Food Technologist
The Junior Food Technologist / R&D cum Admin Officer is a unique hybrid role combining research and development support, regulatory documentation, and administrative coordination. This position provides comprehensive exposure to multiple aspects of beverage product development from formulation trials through regulatory approvals to inventory management.
Fresh graduates with Food Technology or Food Science degrees will gain valuable hands-on experience in product development, food safety compliance, regulatory affairs, and operational administration while working with experienced professionals in a supportive, growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities & Core Functions
🔬 R&D Support & Product Development:
- New Product Development Assistance: Assist senior food technologists in developing new beverage products, flavor innovations, and formulation improvements from concept through commercialization
- Product Trials and Testing: Support product trials, bench-scale testing, pilot production runs, and sample preparation for evaluation and consumer testing
- Formulation Support: Assist in beverage formulation development, ingredient selection, ratio optimization, and recipe standardization for sparkling water and healthy drink products
- Shelf-Life Studies: Support shelf-life testing programs including stability studies, accelerated testing, and quality degradation monitoring over storage periods
- Sensory Evaluations: Coordinate and participate in sensory evaluation sessions, taste panels, and consumer testing activities to assess product quality and acceptability
- Supplier Coordination: Coordinate with ingredient suppliers, flavor houses, packaging suppliers, and production partners regarding technical specifications, samples, and quality requirements
- Laboratory Activities: Assist in basic laboratory testing, quality measurements, pH testing, Brix analysis, and documentation of results
📄 Documentation & Regulatory Support:
- Municipality Approvals: Prepare and submit comprehensive documentation packages for Dubai Municipality approvals, product registrations, and regulatory clearances
- Regulatory Documentation: Maintain product files, technical specifications, formulation records, and compliance documentation required by UAE food safety authorities
- Product Specifications: Develop and update product specification sheets, ingredient declarations, nutritional information panels, and technical data sheets
- Labeling Compliance: Support labeling requirements ensuring compliance with UAE food labeling regulations including ingredient lists, allergen declarations, and nutritional claims
- Ingredient Documentation: Maintain comprehensive ingredient documentation including certificates of analysis (COA), halal certificates, allergen statements, and GMO declarations
- Compliance Records: Organize and maintain regulatory compliance records, approval certificates, correspondence with authorities, and audit documentation
📦 Admin & Inventory Management:
- Raw Material Tracking: Assist in tracking raw material inventory including ingredients, flavors, sweeteners, and additives used in beverage production
- Packaging Material Management: Support inventory management of packaging materials including bottles, caps, labels, and secondary packaging components
- Finished Goods Monitoring: Track finished product inventory, batch numbers, production dates, and stock levels for inventory control
- Inventory Reporting: Support inventory reporting activities, stock reconciliation, usage tracking, and reorder point monitoring
- Stock Coordination: Coordinate with suppliers, warehouse teams, and production partners regarding stock levels, deliveries, and inventory requirements
- Operational Documentation: Handle basic administrative tasks including filing, record-keeping, report preparation, and operational documentation
Required Qualifications & Educational Background
- Academic Credentials (Mandatory): Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Engineering, Nutrition, Food Safety, or closely related field from accredited university
