The primary responsibility of this role is to work collaboratively with food handling departments implementing robust food safety programs, conducting inspections, training staff, and ensuring all hotel food outlets comply with Qatar food safety regulations and international hospitality standards. Key Responsibilities & Core Functions
Inspections, Audits & Compliance:
- Conduct regular comprehensive inspections and audits of food production processes, kitchen facilities, food storage areas, and equipment ensuring strict compliance with food safety standards
- Inspect all hotel food outlets including restaurants, banquet facilities, room service operations, and catering departments
- Verify compliance with HACCP principles, critical control points monitoring, and food safety management systems
- Assess hygiene practices, sanitation procedures, and cleaning effectiveness across food handling areas
- Document inspection findings, non-conformances, and corrective action requirements
Training & Staff Education:
- Train and educate hotel employees across all levels on food safety and hygiene practices including chefs, cooks, kitchen staff, and service personnel
- Conduct training sessions on proper food handling techniques, safe food storage procedures, temperature control, and appropriate disposal of food products
- Develop training materials, presentations, and job aids supporting effective learning
- Provide induction training for new employees covering food safety fundamentals and hotel-specific procedures
- Deliver refresher training ensuring ongoing compliance and awareness
Program Monitoring & Continuous Improvement:
- Monitor and systematically evaluate effectiveness of food safety programs, policies, and procedures
- Analyze food safety metrics, audit results, and performance indicators
- Make recommendations for program improvements based on data analysis and best practices
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives enhancing food safety culture
Incident Investigation & Corrective Actions:
- Investigate food safety incidents, customer complaints, foodborne illness reports, and quality non-conformities promptly and thoroughly
- Conduct root cause analysis identifying underlying causes of food safety issues
- Develop and implement corrective actions addressing immediate problems
- Establish preventive actions preventing recurrence of food safety incidents
- Track effectiveness of corrective/preventive actions through verification activities
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including food production, quality assurance, purchasing, engineering, and regulatory affairs
- Ensure seamless implementation of food safety initiatives across all departments
- Coordinate with hotel management on food safety priorities and resource allocation
- Partner with suppliers on food safety requirements and quality standards
Regulatory Compliance & Industry Updates:
- Stay informed about changes in Qatar food safety regulations, Ministry of Public Health requirements, and international hospitality standards
- Monitor industry trends, emerging food safety risks, and best practices in hospitality food safety
- Ensure hotel practices remain current, compliant, and aligned with regulatory expectations
- Liaise with regulatory authorities during inspections and audits
Documentation & Record Management:
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive records and documentation related to food safety activities
- Document inspections, audit findings, training sessions, incident investigations, and corrective actions
- Ensure proper record-keeping supporting regulatory compliance and certification requirements
- Prepare reports on food safety performance for management review
Required Qualifications & Educational Background
Academic Credentials:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Required): Food Science, Food Safety, Food Technology, Microbiology, Nutrition, or closely related scientific field from accredited university
- Master’s Degree (Preferred): Advanced degree in Food Safety, Food Science, or Public Health providing enhanced expertise and career advancement opportunities
Professional Certifications (Mandatory):
- HACCP Certification: Comprehensive HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) certification demonstrating expertise in food safety management systems
- ServSafe Certification: ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification or equivalent recognized food safety credential

Professional Experience:
